New ‘Kong Skull Island’ art teases the giant apes and lots of fire

Fans got a great look at Kong: Skull Island with the new trailer, check it out below, and now have a look at some concept art to see the size and scale of the titular ape. Check it out below.

The giant ape is scene amidst the blaze in the screenshot from the trailer, a notable likeness to the artwork debuted at Empire. One thing revealed is the massive size of Kong.

A more interesting comment by director Jordan Vogt-Roberts, who revealed the plot he pitched and the angle set up in the new film.

“The script I first read took place in 1917. But when I started talking to the Legendary [Entertainment] guys, I was thinking, ‘What weird King Kong movie would I want to see?’ So I pitched them the Vietnam War connection, literally thinking they were gonna laugh me out of the room. And to Legendary’s credit, they said, ‘Cool. Let’s figure it out.’ The aesthetics of that time mixed with King Kong makes for an incredible genre mash-up.”

There is a full synopsis below.

Kong: Skull Island has an all-star cast: Tom Hiddleston, Brie Larson, John Goodman, John C. Reilly, Corey Hawkins, Jason Mitchell, Tian Jing, Thomas Mann, John Ortiz and Shea Whigam.

The new film film arrives on March 10, 2017.
