New ‘Jumanji’ film adds Ser’Darius Blain and Madison Iseman

Ser’Darius Blain and Madison Iseman have joined the cast of Jumanji, the reboot/sequel from Sony set to star Dwayne Johnson, Kevin Hart, Jack Black, Karen Gillan and Nick Jonas.

Deadline broke the news, adding that “Blain will play Anthony ‘Fridge’ Johnson” while Iseman’s role was not revealed. Fans can check out the photo of the stars below.

jumanji-boardgameBlain starred in When The Game Stands Tall, Camp X-Ray with Kristen Stewart, and Paramount’s Footloose remake, the source added.  Iseman has appeared in indies such as Wild For The Night and Laid In America as well as most recently appeared on truTV’s Those Who Can’t and the CMT comedy series Still The King alongside Billy Ray Cyrus.

Jake Kasdan (Orange County and Walk Hard: The Dewey Cox Story) will be directing the new film, confirmed to be a continuation of the story first told in the 1995 film with Robin Williams. Scott Rosenberg and Jeff Pinkner wrote the script based on draft by the original writers Chris McKenna and Erik Sommers. Jumanji is based on the Caldecott Medal-winning adventure book by Chris Van Allsburg.

Johnson has teased the film endlessly, dropping photos and hints along the way.

At the beginning of the month, Johnson posted: “And now in two weeks I’ll reunite with ol’ friends Kevin Hart & Jack Black and we have the honor to introduce a whole new generation to the amazing world of #JUMANJI. *(for the record we are NOT making a reboot, but rather a continuation of the awesome JUMANJI story). It’s also crazy to me how much me, Kev and Jack look like triplets when we’re together… Man this is gonna be FUN.”

The new Jumanji film arrives next summer, on July 28. December 22, 2017.
